Herpes Zoster and Herpes Simplex
Herpes Zoster
This is a viral infection affecting certain nerves. Eruption pain and itching may be experienced for up to 4 days prior to the lesion erupting as vesicles. Chills and fevers can accompany it. The lesion appears as a clearly defined red area along dermatomes on the thoracic, abdominal and or groin areas. Some people may experience post herpatic neuralgia for several months after the initial symptoms.
Herpes Simplex
This is an acute contagious infection commonly associated with either the lips or genitalia. Triggers include stress, tiredness, sunlight, menstruation or air travel.
Chinese medicine is very effective at treating the underlying causes that can result in re occurrence.
